The challenge

A mission-driven community services charity working with vulnerable families. Small team, no in-house IT, stretched budget. Board was asking pointed questions about donor data protection after a sector-wide incident made the news.

What we did

Onboarded pro-bono under Business Plus equivalent. Built out Essential Eight Level 0 across 8 controls. Rolled out tailored cyber awareness training to all staff. Set up MailCheck™ in Outlook and established a weekly reporting rhythm with the CEO.

The result

93% of staff completed training in the first month. Suspicious-email reports jumped from roughly zero to several a week. The board has a written report they can show donors. No compromised credentials in dark web checks since onboarding.

The challenge

A residential village with hundreds of residents across multiple unit types. Families worried about scam calls. Management needed to demonstrate proactive care without adding a layer of paperwork for staff, and without asking residents to sign up themselves.

What we did

Rolled out village-sponsored Senior Protection — Wrap Around coverage for every resident under a single community fee. Ran an on-site launch event. Set up a family portal so adult children could stay informed. Established quarterly scam activity reports to village management.

The result

Residents feel looked after. Families have a channel to reach us. Village management has documented scam-prevention activity for annual reporting and insurance renewal. Scorecard climbing steadily toward the 85% Essential Eight Level 1 target.

The challenge

A family-run accommodation business holding guest payment details and personal information. Previous MSP had abandoned them mid-contract. Owner was juggling bookings, staff, and a looming PCI-related question from the bank — none of it their area of expertise.

What we did

Moved them onto Business Shield. Assigned a dedicated named analyst. Set up Microsoft 365 Business properly, deployed Defender, Intune, Purview, Entra ID and Conditional Access. Progressed them through 48 Essential Eight Level 1 controls over 12–24 months. Monthly scorecards and direct line to their analyst.

The result

Went from 33% to 73% on cyber maturity scorecard. Zero compromised credentials across all dark web checks. Owner now attends a 30-minute review each month and signs off a one-page report. Bank's PCI query answered with written evidence of controls.

Having a team that actively manages our Microsoft environment and sends us a clear monthly report has changed how our leadership thinks about cyber security. It's no longer something we worry about — it's something we manage.

Small apparel business with a growing USA direct-to-consumer channel. Held customer credit card details and shipping data across both jurisdictions. Needed baseline protection before their next round of investor due diligence, and cross-border data handling that didn't require hiring a lawyer every time a question came up.

What we did
